Internet Circle IC4
Following the increase in natural history
entries in the 2013 Travelling Exhibition and Projected Image Competition, it
was suggested that a natural history digital circle was formed. When the idea was put forward there was a
fair amount of interest so the circle started in April 2014.
We use the term ‘nature’ rather than natural history as it is now understood in international exhibitions, as it allows a wider interpretation of the subject and allows images to be taken under ‘controlled conditions’ rather than restricting images to purely wildlife. Members are expected to indicate when images were taken under ‘controlled conditions’. The removal of minor blemishes or intrusions in the image is acceptable so long as the truth of the image is not compromised. There is a wide range of subjects entered, the majority being of birds and insects, though the circle tries to encourage members to undertake new forms of NH photography.
